Oh sorry. The way I wrote Ray-safe must have looked like a brand I knew of. I was just asking if anyone knew a safe med to use for fungus on rays. I'll try to post pics today.

Doh! I thought it was a med.lol For saprolegnia cases, I usually just go with iodine solution and salt. Do you have Biobandage?

I'd look into this.

The problem is that fungal infections are usually very rare and exhibit cottony growth so I kinda have doubts if this is fungal. Could simply be bacterial but salt will still prevent both from latching on the infected site too hard. The iodine can kill whatever bacteria has latched on it. Hydrogen peroxide is another topical but it's harsher and you need only one swab for that.

Glad to hear that. What did you treat the ray?

I did a 50 % water change everyday. Also I woke up one morning and found a bite mark on one of my rays that looked like it came from one of my endlis. I sold off all the endlis and the other ones tail started to look better immediately. I think the bichirs were nipping at them and what I thought was fungus might have actually been a bacterial infection. I added quite a bit of salt as well. Its all good now.

Yes, the salt helps keep bacteria from latching on the wounds. Good deal.:)
