Miles thanks for the effort....what about the small clasper issue.....would they not be mature clasper if it was a mature retic?

After view bunch of pics of different variants, the one that most resembles mine I think still is the scobina pic I posted above.....it too has pointy snout!

I will update pic in week or so, now that the ray seems to be more active and eating like champ.....hopefully colour/markings will come out bit more, that I will be able to capture in a photo.....

thanks again

im really thinking humerosa ray.... orb rays tend to hold on to there black better as they grow... as far as claspers go they will mature when its time for them too... some rays take longer than others... just cause its big doesnt mean it has to be mature

Hi Nic, i agree with you, also think is Humerosa, and this type is big type.

My guess would be a really faded castexi only cause of the many small spots along the disk. I hope not to offend but I've seen some low quality castexi but this one takes the cake.

isnt pineapple the hawii castexi??? miles???

Hello,

I keep a few Castexi rays and saw many sp.Peru and this one is some kind of Castexi/Peru Hybrid.
It has big Castexi body, Castexi tail, the tail colouration is a mix between orbignyi-lookalike-sp.peru Tail and Castexi and the Body Colouration a bit "light" so the Castexi perhaps was Motello and not one of the kinds with many spots.

They change colouration very often when the grow, let´s see how it will become.

MichaelH imported a very similar one, I ask him to post a picture.

Yes Nic.. Pineapple usually = Hawaina.. will very between each exporter and their fish collectors.

I say Castexi.. with possible mixed genetics as AlexG said.

well i got 2 rays about a year ago and were sold to me as motoro variants, but had some guys try to id from another site and they came up with peru.sp flowers and one looks very close to yours here they are. would be interested in what they are for sure
