Hello,

im new to the stingrays...not to fish though. I have a motoro, eating anything that is put in front of him, always moving, everything says he is extremely healthy. I have had him for about 2 months now. Over the last month or so, he seems to climb the walls and then "jump" out of the water. It seems like he is just doing this for fun but i just wanted to make sure that this is a normal thing.

thanks for your help.

Shawn

I hand feed my rays at a precise location in their tank. Anyone or anything that comes within a foot of this area elicits a "spitting" behavior along with wall climbing. When they are really hungry they have launched themselves hal a body length out of the water.

if its a food thing how much should i be feeding him? i think im feeding him enough. I know they will pretty much eat anything but does anyone have any recomendations as to a daily or weekely intake?

here are 2 pics of him. One from the top,and one from his belly as hes climbing the wall. He seems very active and nothing stops him from eating...so on that i would assume hes healthy. I hand feed him 2 small cubes of mices shrimp a day. the cichlids in the tank eat flakes and blood worms so what ever of that is left later he tends to eat up. hes about 6 inches wide right now. How much should i be feeding him? I have jsut went with the rule of ruffly how much he would eat in about a min...and as a bonus he gets extra that the other fish dont eat.

my rays when they were younger would ALWAYS play in the bubbles, watch those cichlids like a hawk! normally rays and cichlids dont mix to well.... the cichlids pick at the rays eyes and disk

thanks for the advise...i would much rather get rid of the cichlids then te ray!!
they try to eat him, i will get them out of the tank asap. Its a 120g tank and lots of room for the cichlids to play in there rocks where the ray does not go...

anyone with suggestions on my feeding him? am i feeding him enough? too much?
