ray "jumping" out of the water?

rays are not like normal fish... they will eat until full, so there really isnt to much to worry about.. just make sure you take any uneaten food out of the tank alot of people actually feed thier rays 2-3 times a day

Maybe your ray thinks its in Lake Victoria and is trying to jump out and swim home?


but no seriously sometimes rays will 'slap' themselves on the surface if they have external parasites, like argulus.. so keep an eye out for that.

he seems to just be playing because its not a constant thing. just when the moon light goes on at night. during the day he generaly does not do it at all.

My neighbour's ray flops out on the deck to impress the females(only right in front of them) before flopping back, in several times a day... totally freaky.
