If you've seen my update you will have notices that the king of the tank is missing, my 13" male motoro. Don't worry he's not dead......... last time i checked:D He's in isolation to give the female a break.

Anyway, i've noticed a definate change in my female. She hasn't been eating well and is usually resting in the sand. Even though she was getting a battering from the male, she was fine before he left.

Do you think that they have a bond of some sort. From my observations in my tank and in others, rays always love being together. For instance Nico's tank (the mega tank). The rays seem to always be together even though they have so much space to be alone.

Sorry if my poll doesn't work just answer in your posts if you like.

My rays always seem together and enjoy each others companies. They also seem smart enough to bond together....

I've never really kept my rays alone. The one time i did was with my P14 he was fine but he completely changed when i added his friend.

I COULD DEFINETLY UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT.....
I THINK IT IS DIFFERENT WHEN THEY ARE ADULTS COMPARED TO WHEN THEY ARE FEMALES.....
MY JUVINILE RAYS ALMOST SEEM BOTHERED BY EACH OTHER SOMETIMES..., AND FIGHT OVER FOOD.....,

are you saying females are not capable of being adults??

I think it is quite possible for rays to develop a companionship with another ray, other spieces of animals this happens. They are very social creatures.

SORRY....., I GUESS IT WAS A SUB-CONSCIOUS THING..... HA-HA

I DONT KNOW WHY I WOULD ASSOCIATE FEMALES WITH JUVINILES????:D

i notice that with mine too when i had a pair inthe tank they woudl all be active. and when the female was gone all he does is bury himself and hide all day until theres food.

For this bond to occur, do the rays have to be a m/f pair or from the same species or will any ray bond with another of similar size regardless of sex or species?
