It all seems to fall together. First my azian breaks his tail off, now my ray wont eat properly anymore.
Before the weekend all was good and she was active and a little piggy. When i got back home sunday, she refused the shrimp i offered. Now, 2 days later, she still refuses worms, mussel, shrimp... all her favourite foods before.
Her stinger looks like its refreshing or something. Could this be the cause?
Ive watched the other fish closely but nobody bothers her and water is still good too. I dont understand. Im not that experienced with rays so atm im getting a bit worried as i see her get thinner.

Anybody any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

no Haiko.. Just in to wish you g luck..i know how it is, when things start running askew...it will be ok, for sure.

just do a water change......, and maybe add a little salt.....
Also, bump the temperature up to atleast 85-88....

Although this has never happened to me, i think it could be something to do with the refreshing of the sting. Keep the water good and i wish you the best of luck.

thanks guys. ill keep water as good as possible, up the temp a bit and hope for the best. i know a not eating ray is bad but fingers crossed...

she is still not eating now. Im getting worried she will starve if not die for other reasons. Could this be internal parasites? Would it be wise to put her in a small q-tank and treath with hot water and salt? Or would the pickup and dripple to other system be too much for a ray in this condition?

Any input is appreciated!

her diet was mussel, shrimp and worm. i was thinking the same thing about the transfer but in my main tank i have a nitrate reduct which prevents the use of salt...

could it be she has internal bacteria/parasites or something?

How is the ray doing.
Alex

It could be the shrimp that made her sick do a water change every 2-3 days for right now and offer it alot of black worms. As far as a internal parasite i dont think any of those foods she could have gotten it from, goldfish for me have been the main case for parasites now i only use night crawlers for their food.
