I got all my rays eating Massivore and after a couple of days I have noticed massive amounts of poo in the tank. So much that I net it out and then 10 minutes later another massive pile. I never noticed this when feeding frozen food. Is it because pellets are harder to digest?

mine when they poop out pellets it almost look like a pile of pellets. Harder looking and the color of pellets.

Maybe you are feeding too many...lol

I think my tanks stay cleaner feeding pellets, as it does not take that many pellets, especially massivore. 1 massivore pellets is equal to 2 gold fish or something like that.

Massivore is your culprit.
Since i have changed my "main" pellet from NLS 7.5mm to Massivore i can clearly see the poop getting more especially when my CK and Jag decides to really fill there belly's.

I probably am feeding to much. I am feeding about 20 pellets along with a little shrimp mixed in for 6 rays in my main tank. I have cichlid gold coming probably tomorrow. I will cut back on the amount I am feeding and see what happens. It does look like piles of chewed up massivore LOL

I agree with keepinfish, perhaps your over doing it slightly.Personally im a big fan of all the Hikari range of foods,i use lots of Massivore myself as well as the Cichlid gold sinkers but i also feed plenty of the usual mussels, prawns, whitebait,Cockles and half a Kilo of earth worms every week..............why i can't be happy with a Goldfish i don't know, rays must be the most expensive fish on earth to feed!

Yea I like to mix with cichlid gold 50:50

Just love your feeding video, all your fish look so healthy but more to the point fantastic examples of their species, that Tig has classic markings and those are simply the best spotted Gars ive ever seen, like the Black Arows too.

Hey how are you guys getting your rays to eat the massivore delite, i have a 6 month old male ray and he just wont eat them, loves worms loves the frozen foods, but just wont touch the pellets. I have treid soaking them in blood worms, thought he was going to eat them but the pellets were still in the tank later on.

I know sometimes you have just stick to it and starve them if needed, but i just cant bring myself to starve my ray for a few days. He eats well, has a very fat based tale.

Any ideas people??

Regards Novaman

its like ANY pet we keep you cant just change the food over night or it will up set the animals belly

i had this problem at the start then after a few weeks it stopped

i still get bits but not as much

the best fish that eat ray crap is tinfoil barbs you need a lot of them 6-8 or they wont eat it

you will find 1 tinfoil will peck at the crap and then the rest attack it like a shoal of piranha
