ray + pool filter sand?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think many cover the whole tank so even the room lights aren't affecting the ray. Probably depends on where your ray comes from - WC rays will appreciate you giving them lots of time to get used to their surroundings, TR rays probably aren't going to be too bothered by light.

ya. its the fact that im also dropping an aro and 2 gars in the tank at the same time so trying to accommodate to their needs also

All at the same time? Wow, not advised...

Fish might not all get along and your bio-load will go into overdrive!

what would you suggest? i have a 10 gal i could use to temp house something? im picking them all up at the same time though. and theres a pretty big oscar in my tank already which seems to eat .. be messy and produce more waste then 4x 4" fish will. i could be wrong?

Haven't kept aros or gars but never underestimate the power of a 4" stingray to foul water. They're little bio-reactors with paddles. And a 10 gal would probably crash pretty quick with any of 'em.

Get yourself some SeaChem Stability.... pronto... and I would double dose it just to be safe.

None of those fish are suitable for a 10G; even short term.

not even for a week or two? add them slowly to the 225 and see what happens? or what if i put the aro and ray in the 225 and the two gars in the 10g for a week or 2. then add the gars? or am i looking at danger having 4" gars in a 10g?

I suggest you slow down...

... how so? i have the fish ordered in. and i have a date im picking them up. hes over stocking one of his other tanks just to hold my fish for a few days so i'm pretty much deffinatly picking them up on sunday. so i don't really know how to slow down. not as if they are available there, they were ordered for me.

anyways ive always wondered about stability .. does it actually help fix ammonia etc problems or just cover them up so they'll happen again in a few weeks?
