We've lost him today....
Sorry about the loss, it seem tho many knew the outcome of how these species will turn out. Wish your friend better luck with the next ray he get.

just let your friend know he isnt the first person to lose a ray. Again i would tell your friend to get a motoro.
Even a hystrix would be better then a retic. just make sure he has the proper filtration system.
I like to have at least 3x the filtration of the tank and a lot of air.

dang I am very sorry to hear about the loss. There is something about loosing a stingray that has always affected me more so than most any other fish.
A hystrix would be a great ray. They seem to hold up better and demand a higher dollar amount which usually means they get better care along the road prior to your purchase of the ray. They also stay smaller which makes them a more tankable fish.
