Hey guys, I'm having some minor problems with my 2 rays and was hoping you guys could help, i have a 220g tank, with one SP.Peru (6"), one motoro (8"), two 7" pbass, one 10" silver aro, one 17" fire eel, one 5" datnoid, the tank has a sump, and my ammonia is 0, nitrite 0, nitrate around 40 ppm, although a few days ago i noticed the SP. Peru had a little mark on the bottom of his disc, that kinda looked like a pimple or something, and i have no clue what it is, or how to get rid of it, but recently i noticed the front of both of their disc's, were slightly darker, not alot but darker then normal, and was rough like sand paper, and it wouldn't go away, then 2 days ago i noticed the motoro, had a black mark on the corner of her mouth, which i think is fungus but i am not sure, i didn't have enough prazi to dose the tank yesterday and the lfs was out, so i dosed with melafix, and so far (not even a full 24 hours) i don't see any difference, now today i picked up some prazi, but don't know what to do, should i dose the tank with the melafix still in there, or should i put my carbon back in and wait a day, then dose with prazi?

any suggestions are greatly appreciated
Thanks
Sean

By the pictures I do not see any need for concern. Sometimes, as mentioned, the pimples are parasites, particularly louse (little bugs). They are hard to see on a ray because they are generally clear. They will stay in one spot on a ray for a long time as well. They are common on new imports, at least from Peru.

i would up water changes and salt for a week.... then consider meds....

is binox a powder or liquid?, i couldn't find any around here although i think i just did, but i think the guy said it was powder, does that sound right?, anyone else around Toronto know where to buy it?. or anywhere online with fast shipping?

it doesn't really look like louse though from the pics I've seen online anyway, and he didn't have it before it is new, and I've had him for at least 2 month, if not more

i do 2 50% changes a week, you want me to do even more?, and how often can i do them, could i do 50% changes everyday till it goes away?, and how much salt should i use, i know people say 1 lbs per 100g, but how much should i re-ad with every water change?, i'm afraid to over salt, if there is such a thing, and is all this salt gonna effect any of my other fish?

Thanks guys

replace how ever much you change out... ive done 4 50% water changes in a row every day for 2 weeks straight when i had a problem... waited about 15-20 min inbetween each so my sump could run...

I'll try more salt and more water changes for now, and I'll go grab some binox tomorrow just to have on hand, thanks guys, I'll update ya if anything happens, and should i put my carbon back in?, to remove the melafix?, or just let the the water changes dilute it, till its gone?
