Very nice set up.

Not to get off topic, but did you treat the wood in the same room with anything to prevent mold, etc. from the moisture?

behind the slats of wood is sheets of 6inch poly the wood was then treated with that outdoor vanish i have 3 x external humidity fans so no condensation Issi good it stays warm in winter and cool in summer been set up over 18 months no problems

it looks kind of awkward and inaccessible to me, but when space is limited one does what one has to. Nice tank!
:)

its not to bad for most people to get in as you need 3 steps to feed the main tank which is 6.6 tall (tank size 8 foot long 6 foot wide 3 foot deep)

i dont have to go up the steps as i lost both legs this year so my girlfriend feeds as i have just started to walk again on fake legs

the main reason i set the main tank up was as hardly any maintenance need as the system changes 200 gal per day so no water changes needed just need to change UV tubes every 6 months and the cartridges in the hma water filter

18 months not one manual water change

Sorry to hear the last part but kudos on finding someone that is willing to do it for you. Awesome setup I really like the ski resort look it has. Is that a big tig in the last set of pics?

Yes big tig about 2ft had it over 5 years a very slow grower as its lucky if it grabs 2-6 mass pellets per day

Very nice unique idea...

not that different to the overhead filters they use i was thinking of the same thing but planting it to help nitrates but as they are super low with the 24/7 drip that changes 200 gal per day not much need to plant it
