.....thats a good question....
Hey guys, finally got a pair of motoros and had a question regarding the sand. I used the white tahitian moon sand, its uber fine, almost like flour. Don't know if the name is correct but the packaging has a picture of those easter island moa things. Was wondering if any one used this sand for rays before, they are just covered with it right now. Thanks for the help!

Thanks, but now its startin to act funny, (could be normal but not sure, my 1st time with rays) The female is swimmin up the glass then droppin back down over and over again. The male just seems to cruise the bottom. it looks like the sand thats stuck to the rays is just peeling off in small pieces. Is this normal? Don't really look normal but...

Rays do swim up and down the glass, don't worry about this. Sorry can't help with the sand i have not heard of it.

Carl.

as long as it dosnt contain sillica it should be ok...i dont think that the thaitan moon sands reccomended but i dont think its bad for them..estes is very good for rays...

Alright estes it is. Ah man, theres so much moon sand in there....oh one more thing, which color sand is better for bringing out the motoros colors, black or white?

id say white

Check your bag, I would make sure its not the silica sand. I was under the impression that the tahti moon sand was black. Unless that is just the brand. been a while since I have looked.

Yeah, its tahitian moon, at the shop we have the black and white sand. The white sand is twice as fine as the black sand. its super nice cause it PURE white but its fine like flour.
