I am thinking about getting a small ray (not sure which kind yet) but is it ok for them to be in a tank with pea gravel substrate? This might be an obviose question, but i know nothing about stingrays
thanks

My suggestion would be to learn something about them before you snag your first one. They are not difficult to keep but, it is very easy to kill one by making some rookie mistakes.

If you're going to buy one locally let me know. I should be able to get you a decent deal if the indy stores want to rape you on price.
I've bought 2 rays from marion and they're both doing great (the male is fatter than fat)

I agree....research before you buy will make your experience more pleasurable in the long run. Some of us old-timers didn't have it as good with available information like what's offered in the forums here and had to learn the hard way.
