is the ray barb now open? meaning th skin is broken over it and the barb looks like when it sheds?

Don't think so. Could be tho. Looked just like a little piece of flesh. When I get home from gym I'll snap a pic of the barb.

Looks like it was your old female jay! She actually has a new barb coming in so who knows

This is interesting to me. I've kept multiple rays with a large variety of tankmates and never experienced a Ray striking anyone other than another Ray in fending off a breeding attempt.

Quick update. The CK is still doing alright. Ate like normal tonight. Lip looks a little less swollen but seems to have a sore now. Sticking with 25% daily water changes until he comes around
