Ray Tank Decor?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You could hang some branching driftwood from the top of the tank. I agree that with that width of a tank, you will want as much bottom space as possible.

Yeah thats works well, I used manzanita branches when I had mine like it, gives the rays sumthing to play/chew on aswell plus keeps the bottom free for swimming space. Heres a old photo only one I could find

I like that! Maybe I can think of a way to suspend the branches just off the bottom.

Just cut the branches shorter so they only hang to the length u want them and that keeps the bottom of the tank free for the rays

I personally wouldn't have a ray tank without sand. Like others said above, rays love it and I enjoy watching them searching for food and blowing it around. Rarely do mine bury themselves but at least it's there if they want to.

Just small gravel and air stones in my ray tanks. Anything other then that and they will just destroy it. I am always getting new airstones because they chew them.

Absolutely Richard. Spot on. Like i said they in that glass box for a long time so they should have what they need.
QUOTE=aquaman45;6769356]Totally agree!

I tried the glass bottom a little while back after 30 years of using substrate, I soon reverted back.Glass bottom shows them off beautifully but at the end of the day they aint trophies in a glass display cabinet! We should not deprive them of their basic needs, if they are going to be kept for our pleasure then lets make their stay as comfortable as possible.

Its a old debate but this is my opinion.[/QUOTE]
