Its a 150g 6x2x2 and a bare tank except for 12 inch of 8 inch diameter pipe and a few small rocks, so near a bare tank.

6x2x2 is actually a 180G. not 150G. still on the small side tho considering the extra stock you were wanting to add.

Nope its a 150G mate, and for size wize, its fine.

You have any input for the thread question mate.

Don't forget that 180 us gallons is 150 uk gallons AND 6x2x2 would struggle to keep a female motoro pup in good conditions for much more than 2 years....by good conditions I mean good food and good water parameters and they just grow and grow.

My female marble which are smaller than normal motoros would look very big in a 6x2x2 and she is just over a year old.

I think the point is that rays and aros will outgrow a 150 in time.

Hi kida, not many look at the poster loco.

These are near 8 months and doing fine, but this is not about tank size or going to be one either.

One reason i stopped posting on here, to many go of track and flame.

If its a 150g. then the dimensions are not 6' x 2' x 2'. Im telling you this so that you don't over or under stock or tank. Water volume is important for rays.

As for my other input...... there was a thread where a guy had a tank which he called a Stingray River i believe.. could be wrong but it was something cool like that. It had a DIY pvc rack inside the tank where he had plants and soil about the rays. Gave it a really amazon rainforest type feel, very colorful and aesthetically pleasing.

you might be able to pull off a mini version of this design. it would also assist with keeping your water parameters in check.

Edit: Sorry I was thinking in US gallons. Not UK. I apologize

Like the sound of that mate, if you can get some pics or find the link that would be good.

Ok my tank maybe 148g, not picking over a few gallon, and its the foot print not gallons that are important to rays.

Just for clarity, 6x2x2 is 24. Cubic feet which is 149.5 uk gallons or roughly 180 us

Volume is really important in the smaller volumes (200 gals and below as an example) as it is massively affected by a single rays bio load. To make it really basic...one big pooh can drop the ph which slows down the bacteria leading to ammonia spikes.....let alone the raw ammonia in the pooh and respiratory process) just read a lot of old threads and you will see the evidence.

Rays need foot print for swimming space which is another large factor.

A 150 gal tank is a big bit of furniture but a small body of water in the whole scheme of things....a tiny droplet of any substance will have a large effect on it.

Well i feel bad now, i should think about selling them as i would be keeping them in there for a good few months more.
Dont want to be harming them anymore than i am doing with keeping them with all the other fish aswell.

good point both of you.
