cichlids and catfish are usually bad news with rays. it works for some, but you just gotta try.

so far i got my rays with 3 oscars, 2 blood parrots, and a chocolate cichlid, but i would say so far i have been lucky and the cichlids i have are no where near as agressive as most cichlids.

thanks every one my guys come in tommarow so i cnt wait

I have 4 Dat's, 7 Clown Loaches, 1 Brachyplatystoma Tigrinus, 3 large Discus, 2 Spotted Gars, 1 Fire Eel, 1 P Bass, and a Mpimbwe Zaire Gibberosa. No issues what so ever.

do u know what ur tea cup ray is? you should post some picture of ur set up and ur ray(s)

you be careful when u add ur motoro with ur teacup, the teacup ray may not be able to get any food. its only 3''!! it like almost a new born pup. u should make sure it eats a lot!

give it mysis shrimp and finely chopped earth worms. blood worms are ok but i prefer other foods. try to get it on prawn then pellets eventually. but fatten it up first its probably very skinny. feed it 3 times a day. feed it until it doesn't eat anymore or for 5 mins. leave a little bit of food left over in the tank not a lot. rays are constantly searching for food.

columbian teacup, i might hold off on the motoro and get another teacup and yeah i am loading him up on choped up shrimp, bloodworms, and trying to give him pellets and prawn...hopeing for the best i no it will b hard to make sure he is teaing every day, but yeah i am jsut hoping for the best, and yeah she is a little pup i am so happy i got her small, what are other good small sized rays to get ?

Colombian teacup ray.... lol its probably a
Potamotrygon reticulata

tea cup ray is just a term that suppliers and LFS call unidentified stingrays.

if u want smaller rays ur going into rough waters. their not very hardy and tend to be picky eaters. their also sometimes hard to find. they also seem to be mistreated the most. so when you do acquire one it will be in rough shape!

if u have the space and its ur first time as a ray owner stick to motoros or leopoldli. their easiest to keep as long as u got a big tank.

some smaller species are:

Potamotrygon reticulata
Potamotrygon scobina
Potamotrygon yepezi
Potamotrygon histrix
antenna rays/very long tails!

yeah this little girl is a Potamotrygon reticulata, like u said i just dnt no scientific names, and yeah i hurd thdy can b a pain in the butt, but i am willing to try i dnt want to spend a lot of money on a motoro that i no i will proble have to get rid of because my pond i am looking to build it only going to b 5ft in diameter, so i dnt no, i am only paying $30 for them right now, i am almost 100% my little girl is already eating
