ray vitamins?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If my rays are eating massivore, would you say the vitamin is still necessary?

How would this work when keeping aro in the same tank, I just through a load of prawns into the tank and the aro and rays just share.
So would putting the tabs into the prawns affect the Aros?

How do you dose each individual ray the proper portion of vitamins ( in a tank where there are numerous?)

Could you just not use Human vitamins and get the same result - ie: any extra's would be extruded through waste?

On the effects of "Human vitamins" I have no accurate response except to say don't risk it. Vitamins can and are soluble in many different manners and could adversely affect your inhabitants.

The "ray/shark" vitamins are easily broken into smaller pieces and incorporated into various foods such as shrimp, worms, smelt, silversides. You will have best luck with target feeding each animal with a pronged device. -FM

Target feeding does of course seem like the most logical.

Thank you for the insight regarding the ease of breaking up the Mazuri vitamins.

Human vits have a very different goal in mind when being made. These are targeted specifically for elasmo species, so you don't waste money on things you don't need, and there's less worry of over doing the dosage.

This is the part where you be a man, stick your hand in the tank, and hand feed each individual ray LOL. Then you're sure every ray has got its vitamins. Or you could try getting a pvc pipe and only lifting the pipe when the ray you want comes over to eat.

Will take the pvc pipe approach or something of that nature.

Don't feel like pissing off my 12" rays by pulling away their food. For some reason I don't think they would understand that it is not their turn for their vitamins!
