Rays afraid to cross the river?

So today i added 1in river rocks into my tank...THey take up the middle 4 feet of the tank then on both sides i have about a foot of sand left. My two motoros who are both on different sides seem like they are afraid to cross the river of river rocks

Will they ever cross them? lol

It's just the change, they'll get used to it. My motoro were weirded out for a day when I first gave them gravel after they were used to bare bottom.

Why did the Motoro cross the river rock?

to eat...lol
try feeding in the morning on one side and then feeding later that evening on the other...
should get them to see that crossing the rock is safe.. and well if they want to eat, they will cross...

ok so the male ventures onto the rock just for food! and the female still wont go anywhere near it lol. The male has been sifting(i think thats what they call it?) and hiding in the sand alot lately because it used to be barebottom. And the female just cruises up and down the side of the glass on her side. lol maybe ill take some pics of it later=]
