is there a ray that could be happy in a 120 for a while? not for life but at least for a year or 2?
in a year or so i want to flip the tank on its side and have a foot print of 60x26 im pretty sure thats large enough for most rays. but right now its only 60x18 :( i have been drawn towards rays alot lately and its driving me crazy not having one

1. Texas = no freshwater rays.
2. Not for 2 years.
3. 60x26 isn't big enough for any rays lifetime.

If you weren't in Texas I'd say go read the stickies and get a better idea about appropriate tank sizes for rays.

im not worried about getting them.
but even 26 is too small?
what about a teacup ?

hmmmmmm..... very interesting! thats why i love this site.
what is the smallest species of ray?

honestly, you could get by with a hystrix for a while. I have had my trio for 2 years and the biggest is just 10" disc (and was 6" when i got her). So about 16" long or so, that would fit into a 120 (18" wide). for several years. If you got a male hystrix or reticulated, you may get by for a long time.

thanks! i should be getting a bigger tank in a year or so. hopefully 300 if things keep goin like they are. knock on wood.
but even then at least my mini ray wil have plenty of room :)
