The smallest Ray I believe is a Scobina... Rare and expensive... Collected from Germany I think.
Since you are moving from Texas this weekend, I agree with Keepinfish. You can get away with it for a year or so but keep in mind the ray cant tell you its getting crammed in here... you have to be on top of the Tank Upgrade or he will die on you for "No known reason".
Also just thinking out loud, why not just go through the crap now and convert your tank on its side so the hard part is done with?? Also since the tank is a lil undersized, I would put a nice size Sump on it with a Canister (the idea is extra heavy filteration).
