rays 'n stingers

so at mandalay bay, they have some rays where they removed the stingers...any easy way of doing this without harming the ray? just curious.

also, are the pups born with the stingers, or do they grow 'em?

I was just there last weekend and the rays still had the stingers??? but once when my motoros stinger got caught in the net i used a large toe nail clipper and it worked great because it left the point nice and round and didnt even bother the ray much.

I saw on tv they clip the barb very low and check them daily... I don't think I would try it on my rays though

no harm to ray or me but always gotta be careful
it will regrow it's like toenail , unless ripped out at the root which is cruel and can lead to infection
probly would not recommend monthly stinger trims though

They just clip the stinger and grows back.

because there usually in pools where people tend to be putting there hands in, and little children grabbing things.

I would not clip the stinger if you cause any damage it could get infected and cause the ray stress and problems.

I guess if little kids are putting their hands in there, its safer. I still wouldn't do it personally
