I have to review the thread myself from time to time. Yesteday I used to to figure out how long I have had which Rays.... Sometimes it seems like it's too long, but it's nice to have all the info all in one place.
Soon, I will start branching off and putting more condensed summaries in other areas of the forum that are specific to each part of the project...I say soon...but that really doesn't mean much other than I intend to do it at some point...lol.
This little girl is happy as can be this morning. I have some vacuuming to do as soon as I'm done posting though...I disturbed the filter yesterday and some crud settled on the floor of the tank.
I took about 15 pictures of her, but only the first one using the flash. I was trying not to freak her out...but the ones without the flash were too grainy to use.
She's just a tiny little thing! She's maybe 3" across...no bigger. I'm not sure If I'll sell her or not. Most likely I will, but after all the losses, it's tempting. For sure, I'm going to hang on to her for a while to satisfy my curiosity on how she will color up. I'll get better pics of her soon, and I'll include pics of mom and dad.
Then a pic of the updated sump. It measures (inside) 85"L x 23"W x 24"T. For lack of a better idea, I cut up one of the totes to make a partition for the Lava rock. I set it on top of foam so that the pressure of the rock once it's filled will seal it against the sides. It's room for about 80 gallons of rock. Then, I figure I'll put the pump in some type of basket so that I can fill the end with a whole bunch of foam and filter fiber. The inlet end has about 10" of open space. I want to buy a couple more 3" threaded fittings and tie on pre-filters to both inlets. Then, once per day, I can just swap them out and either wash, or throw away the pre-filter...depending on what I can find and how cheap it is. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out so far.
