hrmm well i have a 6 inch motoro that always had a short tail and i just never noticed that it was bitten off. but then recently i just got a new motoro at about 3 inches and it had a long tail. but after 2 days in my tank the tail got shorter so im assuming a fish bit it off. and im guessting its my clown loaches or my mbu.... is this a problem? cuz my big motoros been living well like that. but im just worried now that i actually noticed.

It could get an infection from the open wound where it got bit off.
The tail won't grow back at all, it will stay short.
I bet it is your mbu doing it, and if he is biting them now, it is only a matter of time before he does some real damage to them.

its most likely the MBU, which might also take out your rays eye balls since they tend to be out there for the picking!

shouldnt there be an obvious wound at the stub on the tail??

iono ive never seen the mbu pick on any fish be4.. its really peaceful. i dont know how the tails got short though. i noticed my bigger rays tail was always that short. but i know forsure that the new small ones tail is shorter.
Get the MBU out. I had one in with my FRT for like 2 days and I caught it going to nip his feet and tail and it had to go. Puffers are very aggressive fish, some very uderestimated fish. My mbu might be the most aggressive fish I've owned
