I have a 10g with a Eclipse hood filter systyem filled to the top with 1 piece of driftwood angled in a corner to reach the surface and water change 80% once a week.

food is Hikari sinking gold and new Hikari sinking gold excel both are cichlid food.

I have had the 2 turtles in there for over a year with no problems.

They make calcium powder with vitamin D in it.

ok mines 4 to 5 inches I think it ate a algae wafer because I a torn up one and nothing in the tank could've done that

I plan on feeding it market prawns and fish filets as soon as i get a flagtail thing figured out
i tried tthe taknking it out of the tank it didnt work out so well becauuse the turtle didnt' teat the massivore and it got too soggy and broke apart

Yes that's good if it's eating the plants. Well the most important part is ofc that it's eating and if feeding it in a separate tank doesn't work then feed it in it's living tank.

Do you have a UVB lamp as well or only a basking lamp?
Vitamin D can be found in calcium supplement and the supplement should be added to the food (re-read my post;)). When feeding with calcium supplement it's important that the turtle eats the food asap or the calcium will come out.

Also with your turtle you can feed him trout pellets n such for more calcium and other supplements.(if he will eat them)

I mostly agree with with your statments however for a turtle that has a relutant apetite it is not recomended by any means to remove it from its home to keep it clean, that only stresses the turtle. Also DONT feed dog or cat food to any turtle, thouse are full of fats, low in calcium and high in phosphorus, exacly the oposite of what turtles should get. Tetra reptomin already has all the vitamins and minerals the turtle needs for now, so if it acepts it or any other high quality pellet there is no need to ad more suplements. Small crayfish, salmon, bloodworms, earthworms and prawns are all great aditives and very good to estimulate a turtle to eat.
Finely the 2 times the shell length water deeph is a myth, this turtles in the wild easily handle much deeper water, go for 17 cm of water for exampl. Also it is very important to make shure the turt has good conditions of privacy with fake aquatic plants, a big chunk of cork, etc.

basking lamp

is that bad? i moved him out of the 20 into a 10 right now so i could get a piece of driftwood in there that actually penetrates the surface.
