RBP and Rays

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
from my experience with rays and pacu's
it's not a good idea. i think pacus are like a 2 year old baby
they want to put everything in there mouth! "rays"
easy way to tell between pacu and piranha is their teeth!
piranha's teeth are clearly visable

thats a stupid combination unless rays are free where you come from, it might work in the wild but not in the aquarium

Hiya waku waku, welcome to MFK,
I think that it would be an expensive mistake, eventually the rpb's would munch on the ray even if the ray is larger. Picture that perfect disk missing semicircle cutouts around the edge. I will try to find a couple of good comparison shots of pacus vs nats for you.
This set is of all red pacus, as they get older they get easier to tell from nattereri.
Note the anal fin, the eyes, the teeth, and the mouth structure.

thanks for the info guys... right now im thinking of setting up a amazon theme tank... rays as the main attraction but what top dwellers can i add? its a 4ftx2ftx2ft tank...

in the 1st place a 4x2x2 tank is too small for rays... even a motoro would be cramped up in there.

pls reconsider...
