i had 6 1in rbp's in a 20 long untill they started dying. i now have 4 and i dont want anymore to die, what the flying hell is going on?!?

What are your water params? What kind of filtration? What are you feeding them?

Are you going to be getting them a larger tank in the future?

Need some info. before we can guess.

More info on set up please. Do you have test kits, Check pH, ammonia, and nitrites first, also any behavioral changes before they died?

ok so i have a small aquaclear and a small biowheel on it for filtration and the water is fine minus a little nitrate. ive done a water change and after a day i lost another one. there was no bitemarks so i assume it was the water?

i was told that these guys are hardy

Hmmm, I've heard that some Ps can have a bad reaction to Aquarium Salt, have you been adding or have you maybe added some recently? When you say that your PH is fine, are you taking into consideration that Piranhas PH requirement is lower than that of normal tropical fish. Ideal is 6.8 - 7.0

No flashing, gasping, shimmies, or bloating?

the ph is at almost exactly 7 and i havent added salt at all. i feed them frozen beef heart

what is your ammonia and Nitrate reading, That is a small tank for that many red's piranha's when small are highly cannibalistic they need good filtration and water changes no feeders when they are that small. Feeder fish are dirty and contain parasites I feed flakes and frozen food at that size and graduate to fresh tilapia and catfish nuggets at larger sizes. THOSE FISH ARE GONNA GET BIG QUICK.
