its a bump from the fish rubbing up into the tank a "fish calus". Both my Rbps get them sometimes My natives get them to. Either spooked fish get them or fish in to small of a tank..

I agree with this. I've rescued oscars and others that were kept in too small a tank and they all had this to some degree or other. Over time, in a big enough tank, the chinple will go away. Kept as it is you risk it becoming an open sore.

my rbps when i first added them to there new 55 got them because every time i walked in the room they ran into the tank, there just now starting to disapear.

yeah, that is definitely a massive chimple, but i don't see anything too serious in the new pics... it looks ugly, but it's not gonna do your fish any harm at this point.

i would just keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't become infected. if you just moved him into a larger tank, that should probably help to curb some of the rubbing on the glass and it should start slowly looking better as long as the water is pristine... by the looks of it, there's a good chance that there will always be some sort of blemish there, but nothing too noticeable.

when he says put salt in it, he means the freshwater salt, not false ocean salt :S
