Hi all.

I have a question. Can pleco mix with RBP?
What other fish cn leave together with RBP.

Thanks in advance :)

Pleco should be fine I had common pleco in with my rbp for over a year. I had them in with black skirt tetras wish no casualties, keep in mind they won't mess with fish that were in the tank before them just anything added is food. That's what I got from my experience.

mixing anything other than other pygos with rbps is just asking for trouble. You will eventually lose whatever you put in the tank with them. whether you add the other before or after the rbps doesn't matter. Its just a matter of time piranhas.

I have had good luck with Plecos, I have only lost 1 to them being eatten in my 10 Years of RBP Ownership. I New batch are not as nasty as my last group, My last Group would eat anything that went into the tank. My New guys have allowed 1 Black Tetra and 1 Chilids to survive for over six Months now, they did eat all there friends.

here's my question...what's the purpose of keeping a pleco with your piranhas? they're not necessarly active, they don't really add movement and all they do is crap alot and foul up your water. Seems pointless to me since no one is going to experiment with some of the more expensive plecos that are visually pleasing

it's like everyone just wants to say I KEPT SOMETHING WITH MY PIRANHAS and feel like they accomplished something. lol

I like the way the Plecos look I have two common Plecos and a third one that I am not sure what type it is. My Plecos eat standing straight up and they swim all around my tank very active, They also eat alot of the food the RBP'S dont get to. Alot of thetimes they swim right up with the P'S and eat with them, I have never seen the P's go after them. So that is the reason why.
