I usually feed mine once a week catfish from schnucks and yes continue the water changes. See you let the water quality go down the level go down and the food scarce. Then you fill up with fresh water change it regularly and feed more than normal. This makes them think they where in the dry season and now they are in the wet season. Rbp breed in the wet season. My wife put mine through the first one on accident. I was away in Afghanistan and when I came back, she didn't take as good as care of them as i wanted. So I replaced alot of the water And changed some stuff around And there is my history. Hope that helps
