y its a bad idea
I am thinking about introducing the two but I have some concerns. The gar might attack the rbps, they always go for silver fish.

the rbps might eat my gar. The gar just swim slowly at the top of the tank. easy pickin. Plus my shoal is 10 strong at 4" each.

y im considering it
The gar are over 2 feet, the rbps might stay clear from a big fish.
The gar have super tough scales, ive been cut handling them! might stop a rbp bite.
the rbps are too fast and would never let my gar creep up on them.

what do you guys think?

not just bad, terrible idea... it will end badly. i can't say for certain exactly how it will play out, but in the end you will lose some fish, guaranteed. you can't mix other fish with piranhas, it just doesn't work... every fish that you place in their tank will either be eaten, eat your piranhas, or stress your piranhas out, and that's it.

Really bad idea. It doesn't matter how tough your gar's scales are. They aren't tough enough.

My rbp's ate my florida gar while he was mortaly wounded by my rtcXtsn

I would think 4 inch piranhas would look like feeders to a 2 foot gar, and would probably become so.
