My rbp's seem to be biting through the tubing from my air pump. It's not a big problem but I was thinking I also have electrical wires in there for my heater and powerhead. Do you guys think they will bite through them? Luckily the wires are higher up but it still makes me wonder.

Yes.

I don't keep piranhas, but I DO have a Red Bellied Pacu (close enough), and even when the heater cable was high up in the tank and only about 2 or 3 inches of it was in the water, one day I found it all chewed up with the copper exposed. Be careful. Just pull the heaters up a little higher on the tank so the cable isn't exposed. Or just stick the whole thing in a PVC pipe covered in holes.

Show a picture of your piranha. I've never had any my RBP biting thru objects other than food...

I guess I'll have to keep my eye on them. I don't think they intentionally do it. Who knows, maybe they are intentionally doing it. I guess I could try the pvc.

My RBP used to bite through plastic plants but that was only because they would chase a feeder in there. I had to pick plastic pieces out of my water all the time. I never had issue with them biting any cords tho. I hope that yours dont. Good luck

i have rbp and they bite everything, my plants, the co2 for the plants, rocks, eachother, everything
