RC hobby car battery explosion!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have the traxxas crawler it goes 50mph
It's electric wit the water sender brushless motor and let me tell you it sucks it lasts twelve minutes then wait and charge for 5 hours tocontinue using it unless you get the special charger 45 mins top to charge instead of 5hrs
But it still not good enough gas will last you much much longer good 4 hours and depending on how much gas you have don't really need a lot of gas, and you get to customize everything you want on it like a real car go gas

The new tmaxx are great trucks. I have an older model the transmission sucked. I converted it to a truggy with hardcore racing mutant conversion. Its has an almost unbreakable titanium chassis. Kyosho also makes good rtrs at a good price, ive had a few of their trucks. The only drawback with the nitro trucks is tunning, you will have to take the time to do it right to get the most out of your motor.

When I really want to run the electrics, I usually charge several sets of batteries (since you have the summit) ahead of time, then after each set runs dead, I throw them on the charger while running the next set of previously charged batteries. It's a loop that i came up with quite a while back that minimizes downtime, especially if you have a friend there to watch the batteries on charge.

Btw, invest on the faster charger, its seriously worth it.

Thanks for posting guys! what fish man dan was saying about having multiple batteries handy is what I had planned, 10-12 mins is not enough for me but I was worrying about cooking the motor running battery after battery in a single session. I think gas may be more satisfying, but Ive heard of park officials not allowing park use because of the noise?

i have both gas and electric rc trucks, i find my self useing the electric more then the gas, with gas you got to aways tweek and adjust and very easly can get overheated. my gas after running it hard for 20 min i have to let cool down for about an hour before running it again.
if you only get 10-12 min per charge something isnt right. My electic get 40-50 min per charge. i run multiple batterys in it with only haveing to wait 10 min or so to let the electric motors cool befor im off running hard again. imo electric is the way to go!

wow! 40-50 mins per charge? I had an associated buggy years ago and I remember only getting like 15 mins out it, this is what I need to hear, thanks.

Ive always wanted to see a rc turbine jet in action, this is the first Ive see with an afterburner effect, is this cool or what?
