BTW: What did you use to trim/cut the terra cotta pots?
I was thinking on using my dremel with a cut off wheel.

I just used a ballpeen hammer. just hit it along the bottom hole of the teracota pot. Do alittle at a time, if you try and knock it all out at once you will crack the pot. As soon as you get the hole even and wide enough, hit the edge at and angle and smooth out the rides. That way she will won't cut herself going in and he won't cut himself trying to go in.

Sounds a lil like chiseling.
I was going to used the sanding bit on my dremel to make sure the edges are smooth.
I'm a wood worker @ heart/ by trade,working on stone/ceramics is a lil intimidating.
