i like the second one too! but if i can offer a suggestion, re-position the center piece of wood so the big stump doesnt stick out like that...

New tank setup looks good! Those are some beautiful pieces of wood. Your firemouths probably can't wait until those plants dominate your tank. Any future additions planned for the tank? A moss ground cover would make that substrate pop!
