The Chinese sturgeon (Acipenser sinensis) is listed as CITESII which does allow trade PROVIDED their home country issues an export permit. Everything I've read on China's stance indicates that no trade is authorized. Therefore, any young A. sinensis that become available are most likely smuggled out of China and against the Lacey Act.
Shoot, even if they were legal, what the heck would I do with a 13ft 1000lb sturgeon?

BTW, that AB seller's feedback rating is (-1/1). Not exactly someone I'd want to send my money to and hope he'll send the fish.

on the lower left of the price tag, it says "usa farm" probably not a chinese sturgeon just the american variety. doubt anything live imported from china would cost 7.99 a lb.

I doubt that's a chinese sturgeon.

it's probably just a bogus label they used.

It is not an Acipenser sinensis pictured if it is in the US and there is nothing that is saying it is one.

It is not uncommon to see all types of fish in asian markets, Sturgeons included.
I regularly see Farmed sturgeons in these stores and it does not make them Chinese sturgeons because they are in a chinese market.
