Re-Sealing tank? Pics of current seal

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
really im all about the if it aint broke dont fix it school

i agree if your substrate covers it what does it matter

I resealed my 75, because the silicone was pretty much gone. The corners look fine, but the bottom looks terrible because I tried smoothing it over, and the stuff starts to cure QUICK. It doesn't matter though, it was only aesthetic and the sand covers it.

that doesnt look too bad. you can clean up the sloppy parts with a razor blade. next time use painters tape for a cleaner look. just remove the tape right after your done sealing, dont let it dry. smoothing it out with your finger will also help with a cleaner looking finnish.

the eastwood company sells a kit for windsheilds that removes scraches in glass

Thanks guys for the vote of confidence.. I have removed all the silicone and then i had to leave for a few weeks so when i get back im going to use alcohol and clean everything up and the tape it off and reseal it. I put some old brown sand in a corner and you could still see the stuff... So i think the black sand would show even worse..
