Re-sex My Umbee

I started a thread last week asking what people thought the sex of my umbee was. A good amount of people indicated "male" based on the photos I provided but as we all know photos are subjective! I've taken more shots of my umbee which I consider better (still crappy though) and wanted to check what people thought now. I'm leaning towards female now but that's based on what I've read so far on how people sex their umbees. The umbee right now is b/t 4-5" and might still be too small to sex but I know that there are some of you out there that are very experienced with umbees and can nail the sex by just looking at these pics. LMK what you guys think!

I forgot to mentione that the darkness/black on the first 1/2 of the dorsal on the first pic tells me female but yea I can be wrong.

It's too hard to say.. This fish is way too young.
I hear it can take a long time to be able to sex umbees as it takes a long time for colors to show up.

Thanks Gani. What sizes are those females? Hard to compare mine now to your females since mine is still pretty small but care to hazard a guess on the sex?

The first female was only 5-6 inches when I took the pic. The 2nd female was 8-9 inches.

Both females don't show blue/green speckles/spangles in their bodies. I looked at your umbee on your original post/topic and it has a lot of spangles. I still think it's a male.

ah so having doubts now are we? lol wll I told you female from the first pic I ever saw, than male after ypu posted pics showing the fish at about another 3'' worth of size, now it is hard to say? I see that mark and makes ne think female again too, but than again the body shape looks a bit male damn it man!! ummmm female..

Now Gani, is that the male I sold you or a different one? Hook a bro up with an update on that fish yo!!!

hahah yea this one is a hard one for me . Too many factors in sexing an umbee. I just wanted to check if maybe these more recent and better pics could give better judgment on the sex. Ultimately I know he/she is a bit small still to sex but going to grow him/her out as they are amazing looking fishes
