Re-sex My Umbee

thats a hard on mate. i'm having the same problem trying to sex mine and now it's around 7". i'd say male because of the fins but the black on the dorsal makes me wanna say female.

the second female Gani posted a picture of bares quite a resemblance to yours so i'll say female.

BTW do you know what generation it is? F0, F1...
 
Judging from the body shape and the darkness in the dorsal, I have to say female. Males are more elongated in the body and probably would show a little more spangling. Wait till it gets a little bigger and we'll know for sure. If you see any black in the pelvic fins while it's showing aggression then you will know for sure. Right around 6" you can pretty much tell between sexes from the body shape and the fins on most Umbees. The males start to develope long trailers at that point. Good luck!!!
 
I'm sticking with my original thoughts on this, female. keep us updated though
 
Thanks everybody for your inputs. Will keep everyone posted. I just wanted to post some pics of my other Umbee which I know for sure is female. The pics are still crappy but you should be able to see that she has no trailers, her body shape is stockier, and her dorsal is completely black almost.
