Awesome concept. DB you've already pointed out the beauty of the Wlim stuff to me, do you per chance have a thread you could point me to to read up on reactors? lol

Hard to get good opinions on reactors. Seems they are just like fixing cars. New technology people are unfamiliar with and therefore usually only intrested in the more "tried and true" or "old school" means, so hard to get good info on them.

Best bet is to just read up on them, familiarize yourself with the concept, NOT how they work. Again just like repairing cars when you start out in a service manual they give you "description and operation" this tells you HOW things work, the concept behind what they are trying to do. This info is given first cause they think you have no business trying to fix something that's broke if you don't know how it's supposed to work when operating correctly. Ask for info here and you're going to get how to build one - trash can, media, air pump, works great. But if you understand the concept then you can build one that fits what you're trying to do rather then just a cookie cutter copy of everyone else's. Get the stuff, build, and when questions surface just find someone that runs one and see if the can help. Most people build them and if they work that's it. Others try to perfect it.

Good point, DB.

I am one of the copiers and will rely heavily on you :)

Actually, it may not be perfect, but the mere fact of having the K1 boiling in a dedicated space can do no harm.

It does not have the hazard potential of fluidized sand filters, right?

If you mean it packing and bio dying off then no, but K1 does have a tendancy to float, so you'll need a means of keeping it in the cube. Especially in the event of meds that alter specific gravity like Prazi.

The cube has a lid, DB. It is,, after all, a small tank....
