  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nice, many orchids need high light for blooming.

As far as raising mushrooms goes, it's pretty easy, the g.i.d mushrooms like very high humidity, most tree frogs tend to be more active at night, for daytime add something more diurnal

Stanzzzz7 Stanzzzz7 Have you started on this yet?
Not really Dan.
I've moved on all the fish and emptied the tank but that's about all I have done so far. I will probably start the build during the Christmas holidays.
I have been dying to start it but most of my weekends are took up by my 3year old daughter.
I never realised how much spare time I used to have before I had a kid.
I will be going ahead with the set up. Still debating fire belly toads or dart frogs.

I know that feeling, at the moment I struggle to find enough spare time to fart. Role on next year my daughter moves out. Look forward to see what you come up with, I have high expectations.

For what its worth I'd go firebelly toads. Ive kept both and both have their rewards. In my firebelly tank I also kept mossy frogs and peacock frogs as they are smaller and tend to stay up in the higher parts of the tank (smaller in the ways of frogs about the same size as firebelly). I simply liked my toad setup more I guess ferns mosses and a couple types of begonia were all easy to get and grew really well. In my dart inclosure I had a harder time finding the tropical looking plants I wanted and then an even harder time getting them to do anything cool....lol.

I have planted mushrooms with a friend we planted morels and another couple out on his property. He farms them. Seems easy enough and you can buy spores online for quite a few different kinds of mushrooms. Keep in mind alot of mushrooms need some form of wood to grow on or near. And some are very picky as to what that wood is, like morels. (I forget what kind of wood they like I think birch....) I would guess you could grow them in a tank as another friend did but those were a different kind of mushroom......
I know the mushrooms like it slightly damp but not super saturated.

Thanks for your input, I found the information very useful. Do you have any pics if your set ups? I would love to see them if you do.

Back in the day we used to use a service called photobucket....they are now the devil. I have a external harddrive that was attached to my old computer before it crashed it hopefully contains pics of my reef and multiple other things like wedding, friends wedding, frog tanks, my reptiles which are mostly gone now and vacations. For some reason it got damaged or will not play with my new computer.....new is incorrect its been 5 years. I need to take it to someone to see if we can get the files off it. So long story short unfortunately not at the moment. I found an sd card that had 3 pics of one of my reefs on it a while back I was so happy. Thats the problem with technology and not staying current. I could buy cloud storage with Google or one of the other companies and never have to worry again but then id just pay photobucket to get my stuff back too.....:angryfire
