Ready to settle with Discus, any suggestions as where to start?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
do you like wild discus or domestic? look around or google it to have an idea what you'll like or check out simplydiscus . don't rush into it.
Been on simply discus most of the night. I think I am leaning toward domestic to learn the species first.

that is good, I like domestic too. they are easier than wild, they just need clean water and stable ph. check out the sponsors and hobbyist section. there is Rob and Bob in your state under NJ Discus.

If you want to stay local, NJ Discus get's some very clean fish. I know both Rod and Bob I've been to Bob's house where they have the fish and have been to Rod's for a Discus meet. They are good guys and will not steer you wrong. I don't know what they have at the moment so give them a call. Just google NJ Discus for their web site. Discus Madness is located in Union and have nice fish too but I wouldn't order them (I heard mixed reviews). If you go there you can pick your own and I highly recomend doing it this way if you consider Discus Madness. You can google them for their web site it's a good site to see what types of domestics you like. I have gotten fish from them in the past but always went and picked my own. If you are going to order fish since you're in AC I would go with Rod & Bob you will never be disapointed.

There are also some great Discus vendors right here on MFK but if you want to go pick out your fish yourself the two above are close.

I found the fish den had really good prices on small discus. I haven't used them and my friend is going to buy from them soon so. we will see. It's at least worth a look if you are going to get a bunch.

Thanks all, going to first reach out to NJ Discus.

How did you make out with this?

Good luck on your venture with Discus! Please update when your set up and would love to hear how you enjoy them. I am leaning towards discus too as I think it would be a nice change for me!
