its not that your saying we have to use paper your saying it works and is cost effective soe of us just seem to be missing the whole picture here
That's it right there.

If you're like me, and think you may change your mind down the road, it might be a nice little solution... It worked for me. I can take it down if I want, with minimal effort.

It was just an idea. If you paint your tanks, then I guess you don't need it. ;)

personally, i find aquascaping to be much more effective then changing the background. the bg just stops you from seeing clear through the tank. and unless its an in wall display, thats usually the point. i dont think the fish notice the difference between a sw coral theme, a mangrove scape, or a nascar poster in the background.
just something to think about.

a nascar picture next thing you know your fish will only swim left

Absoutely... I agree with that. I do think fish notice, and react to different backgrounds, but it's nothing compared to the in-tank layout.

To answer your question about why I would get tired of the background:

Simply put, I'm a bit indecisive at times. Sometimes I just need change.
It doesn't happen too often, but it does happen.

If you go to Walmart, they have some foam poster boards that work well for a couple of my tanks. I tinted my 75g and it's hard to tint by yourself. There's a lot of air pockets, but I can live with it;)

what did you tint with spray glue J/K

but really you spray soap water on and use a credit card smooth it out. starting inthe middle to the edges no bubbles

which would justify changing your wallpaper or carpet. maybe your couch. but not the background for your fishtank.
Different kind of change. I don't stare at my carpet, wallpaper, or couch for hours at a time. ;)
that is ment for them. lol
Or is it? :grinno:

I know many here consider their tanks their fish's tanks. I consider my tank MY tank, meant for my enjoyment. If I don't enjoy looking at it as much because my background has become "dull" over a period of time, you better believe I will change it. That's just the way I am. If you don't like the way your tank looks, why bother? :)
