Real stupid question

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
on a side note , also personally i thought fishzilla was a very poor documentory , its whole purpose including the title ,was aimed at makeing these fish out to be something they are not. and installing fear amoung every day none fish people, this is the excact reason that the bloke on here the other week looking for sensational footage of snakeheads for a tv show , was told no money would be enough for me to hand over any footage.

aurantimaculata ,barca , asiatica, nox , panaw , gachua , sp assam , rainbow could all survive much better than any micropeltes could in the us , and reach much further north but we didnt see one of them in the footage , only the big scary guys where shown , there was no footage showing the fish in its natural enviroment or anything of any use really , there was however lots of close ups of teeth and jaws type sound overs. its a real shame because a really well done documentory on snakeheads would of been sensational and could of dismissed a lot of the fears people have about them.

cheers col

FishZilla, I did watch it and spent most of the time saying to myself what a load of rubbish. I was mildly entertaining seeing how stupid some people are. 'They will eat your pets' give it a rest. It was a bit one sided. They didn't state that they hadn't eaten anyone’s pets.

As Colin said it would have been much better to produce a realistic documentary with a better view of how these animals behave. This program wasn't aimed at people who have a genuine interest in snakeheads, more for the masses that enjoy being shocked. This program will have done no favours to the cause.

My views on the ban are at the moment are Pro. They haven't proved anything but nine and half time out of ten there is an impact in the introduction of a foreign species. Also as much as we like to think we are all responsible fish keepers, there are some pet keepers, I refer to pet keepers rather than fish as this is an issue with more than just Snakeheads, that when an animal gets to large to look after or to difficult to maintain, with the best intentions release the animal. Snakeheads are much better equipped to survive in a more temperate environment so have not died off.

Unfortunately with this type of issue it's guilty until proven innocent rather than the other way round.

It works both ways. In the UK we cannot keep North American Native fish and there are a number of cooler water Asian fish that are illegal. If discovered they are removed and put down.[/FONT]
