real vs. fake

screw fake!!! fakes are just tacky in my oppinion. Not to mention plastic is highly, highly toxic and should not be kept in an environment with living things underwater. Live plant benefits do not end. JAva moss murders nitirites!

It's a lot of easy live plants, like Vallisneria, Limnophila sessiliflora, Javamoss/ferns, Anubias etc. With lightning and some fertilizer there will not be too hard to keep live plants alive. If you do not keep herbivorus fish or fish who demage live plants I can't see any problem with trying it. Like I mentioned, there is many easy plants, javamoss does actually thrive good in low-lightning areas. I think it looks so much better with real plants.

I like Amazon swordplants. They seem to live through any abuse I dish out.

I don't recommend Anacharis. They are hardy but if they die or shed the small leaves clog your filter for days.

how hard is it to keep up with real plants in a freshwater tank? I was debating on whether or not I should use real ones instead of fake in my 10g.

Disappointment city. I thought this thread was comparing REAL or FAKE breasts.
