please dont refer me to the primer, iv read it, repeatedly; its in my favorites. what i want is not massive maxim lengths of the largest ever found, i want realistic measurements. what's typically the largest size for an endli endli to grow to in captivity?

so if i went down the endlicheri road and did my preplanning for adulthood, and i didnt want to have to re-invest in yet another large tank, whats a good safe bet on the proper tank size for one of these guys for life?

This have been asked already many times.

A captive breed endli can get up to 16-18 inches and wild caught around 18"-25"+ in aquaria. Each owner of an endli will have different max growth, due to their tank size and the food they give their bichir. Also the time you give to do water changes. Also ech endli will also growth differently, depend on their genes. Some have bad genes and good genes.

125 Gallon 72x18x22*See note
150 Gallon 72x18x28 *See note
120 Gallon 48x24x24
180 Gallon 72x24x24

*note The difference here is in the depth of the tank 6'' unless you feel the need for the extra depth the 125 is the better/cheaper choice.

when listing sizes of species I feel its best to list max.wildcaught
sizes as it shows the size potential they can reach

thank you Anne. and i wasnt trying to be rude when i said i wanted realistic sizes and not maximum. i dont know if you got that impression or not but just in case there's some clarification. so is the 120 gallon listed above a good choice or would something bigger be a more appropriate choice?

i am going to get one for my 125: 72" x 18"
125 is a good size because 6ft is a lot of swimming space

Bigger is better and i was just explaining why I used max wildcaught sizes
manners never crossed my mind hun-Anne

A bigger tank is always better. Biggest that tank that you can afford that have a space inside you house. Not only that it's better because you can add more bichirs and might as well collect them all. Also if you get to have a bigger tank and with more bichirs in it, you'll get to see more action during feeding and activity when not being feed. If keep in a min tank or smaller they tent to become just being lazy and will wait for the lights to go out and plan to jump out.
