You are the one that introduced the jardini into this thread, you gave an ill fated comparison as to what size proper tank a jardini needed.

Stay on topic or make better comparisons.

all I said was that I saw he had a jardini and if he wanted to make it super happy to buy it a 3k gallon tank. I never compared it to an RTC

If you can't provide these fish with the home they need, why even buy them in the first place? RTCs and pacus are some of the fish I wish weren't sold to the general public. So many idiots out that they they can keep them in their 135g, or even a 400g. Why even keep one of these monster cats where it can barely swim a lap, or have just enough room to turn around? I don't get the sick fascination with that.

There are many other smaller fish that would be better suited for that. If you think stuffing a big ass fish in a small tank makes you a MFKer, you are seriously mistaken.

calling me an Idiot? some people...

+1, There are a ton of fish that I WANT, but they will need a much bigger tank than I might ever have. To compensate though, there are a ton of fish that are just as neat that I CAN house comfortably in the tanks I have. Do not know why this logic is not applied more often.
Yeah exactly. That's why I got out of cichla. After keeping them for about a year I realized that a 400g tank is no where near the tank size these fish need. And since I couldn't provide a bigger home for them, I got rid of everything and downsized. I guess I could have said "who cares, it's just a fish" but I like to think that I'm better than that.

Came to make sure this thread was on fire
Read last two posts from DBS and Leaving satisfied

Mods please close this thread, it was ment to be a thread where people could voice their opinions about what they thought a minimum tank size for an RTC could be but it seems to have come to name calling and flaming

No, I was generalizing. Don't take it personally.

I love these threads. You want 'opinions' but you refuse to listen to what other people have to say and believe your view is the ONLY view and everybody else is wrong.

This is a fishing thread, it's intention is to find someone else to agree with the OP on what size tank he can put his RTC in. Just looking for some justification for an undersized tank.
