Nothing like a festivum ( I have 4 in the same tank). Temprement? Smallest fish in a 105gal and swims around rather happily, other fish of note are 2F JD's, 1F Salvini, 2 adult festivum (current tank dominaters) a 9" sailfin plec and 6" feather fin. Other than 2 festivum juvies slightly bigger than it, its that smallest fish in the tank by 1/2.

I thought it resembles a festivum as if it could be a cross. I don't think they look exactly like festivum either. It just has that dark stripe in close to the same area.

Festivums bar/stripe goes through mid back, not to tail. The dotted stipes look more guapote stripe/bar/whatever to me the festivum stripe (IMO, and I am thankfull for all input :) )

Or did you mean festae (aka red devil, in which case its missing the markings from gills to where the mid area starts), but if it is a hybrid could be part anything.

He was more talking about the markings than actual fish I think, as the general consensus seems that its probably a hybrid. And maybe trying to suggest a possible link.

Ok after going through some of the other threads this evening, a saw this one http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=224268 . Fish number 5 (a female texas) looks exact same shape as mine, similar markings, but it clicked one big difference, my fish isnt showing its blue spangles :irked:, g I'm a twit, OK tried taking some more shots, its just not showing its spangles, (below are some more shots I took tonight, while not showing the colour, you can see the shape and similar markings in photo 2). Thinking back It hasnt shown them that much since I added it, but they were there when I purchased it.

How reliant are those colours on stress, ph etc

So basically I'm back to figuring it is at least 50% texas (if I can get it to show its colours I take some shots, ideas anyone?)
