Hi,

One of my Cichlids has seemed to have developed a really bad infection in its eye. I have searched the pop-eye side of things but i can't find anything that has come close to looking like what is going on with this guys eye.

I have had the water changed (1/2 tank) by the company that set it up around a week ago (it gets changed every 3 weeks). There was a propblem with one of pumps so the guys came round again to fix it all up. One of the fish had milky eyes by this point...2 days ago, but i was assured it was nothing out of the ordinary. Today this is what has greeted me in the morning...

Please excuse the quality of the picture, i hope you can get the idea

It looks as though the eye has been just ripped out, and it looks as though it is about to happen to the other eye as well, but not half as bad...

I went round to the shop today where i have got all my fish from in the past, and they said to get a quarantine tank and all the bits that go with it...the money is not a problem but the space is. I was just wandering if this is a situation that can be fixed/prevented or if anyone has an dea of what might have happened.

Sorry for all the questions, i am a newbie but trying to learn!!!

I have a bigger problem now...back from work and the fish has disappeared from the tank. I have searched high and low and it is no where!!!

This wil be the third fish that has just vanished in a matter of weeks, a red tail and a pleko have already vanished....no bad smells and no trace....it couldn't be the other fish could it...in less than a day!!!!????

Thanks

Raff

i just vanished has to be there check under you driftwood rocks etc...

Why is the water changed every 3 weeks? This is not a correct routine when you should be doing weekly due to the bioload of your tank. What size is the tank? What else are in the tank? How often do you feed? What do you feed? What are your water parameters? State the brand of test kit.
