geting two motoro rays a boy and girl about 14cm on friday after work!! really nervis because ive never kept them b4 but ive done enough reserch to hopfuly make them happy!! is there any good ways to introduce them to the tank i know about the air hose syphon thin but wouldnt that flow to quick or what do i do to slowly add water to their bag???? do i flote the bag in the tank?? there will be mono bass in there and a aussie eel im getn rid of the oscar and pleco!!! plese give me advise on your experienses coz i dont want to loose them!!

Hi there mate, i will help with what i did, when i collected my 2 mot`s i got them i an ply box so it was easyer to do the drip. I added a small tap to the end so i could adjust the flow rate, i let the box fill up by drip straight form the tank then half empyed it and so on for a good hour, before i added them to the tank i just made sure they were still moving about and nothing strange happening, not that i new what to look for as these were my first ray.
Then i slowly let them into the tank with the lughts off for a day.
The next dau they were feed well on pellet, mine were around the same size as yours.
Feed them on what ever they were feeding on before you got them, then after they have settled you can try different foods but you mite have to wait a while, it taken mine a good month to go from pellet to other foods, prawn, cockles muscles.
They are easy to keep, just lots of water changes and feed plenty and they will grow well. Keep a good eye on water params and you will be fine.

What are your params now?

Did I miss something? Was there something wrong with my question? He was asking advice as not to loose his rays and since water volume is a good staring point to see what he is working with, it seemed pretty reasonable to me. :p
If he is putting them in a 55g than I would tell him, bad idea. It seems several people make the first mistake of putting these fish in small tanks.

FYI You happen to be one of them. Putting 2 motors, 2 cichla ocellaris, 3 silver dollars, a couple of silver aros and P bass. All in a 150UK gallon or 180US gallon tank. :nono::nono::nono:

i got a 6 by 2 by 2 witch is 180 g but ive added an extra 125 leters in a filter i made so it water volume is bigga and gets pelloted less !!! i know i need a bigger tank and im workn on that. i got 2 mono pbass about 30 cm and 2 14cm motoros and a short finnd eel . i got the rays on friday and they r eating prawn and massivore so hell happy :)

Nice one mate, i love the P bass aswell, i am after finding some more, just hard to come by over here in the UK.
Keep them well fed and lots of water changing and they will be fine, i have the same set up but a 40 G sump, its been up running for around 8 months, i do a 50% WC twice a week or every 3 days.

Enjoy kida:)

Hi Wayne. They have 3 or 4 p bass at wildwoods . Went there today.
About 6 inch but pricey. Looked real nice.

Hi Ade, is this the place in Middlesex, if so looks a nice shop, bit far for me to get to though, i have found some nearer to me at manchester aquatics, keep calling them but no answer, why do they do that.

jwolf, any pics of these new additions? how are they doing.
